Knowledge management

Knowledge base

An organized, governed collection of information that people or AI systems can consult to answer questions and perform work.

Business example

A company connects policies, procedures, manuals, and approved FAQs so employees can find one sourced answer.

How it works

  1. 1.Content is collected from approved sources.
  2. 2.Ownership, permissions, and freshness are maintained.
  3. 3.Search or RAG retrieves the right evidence for each user.

Common misconceptions

A shared folder is automatically a knowledge base.
Useful knowledge also needs structure, ownership, permissions, and a maintenance lifecycle.
